The Shuōwén Seal form of 羊(𦍋) yáng ‘goat/sheep’ combines 𦫳(𠁥) guǎi ‘goat/sheep horns’, with a vertical line 丨 for the spine/tail crossed by two horizontal lines (二) for the four feet (2 left and 2 right).
Note: SW glosses 羊 with a pun on 祥 xiáng ‘auspicious; luck/blessing’; for 羊 yáng ‘good’, cf. 牂(𤖁) zāng ‘ewe’, 臧 zāng ‘good’.
