The Shuōwén Seal form of 多(​𡖇) duō ‘many/much’ doubles ​夕 xī ‘crescent moon’: here ​夕 ‘moon’ represents any doubled thing, as ​月 in ​有(​𪠥) yǒu ‘have’ represents any abstract object.
    Note: Under 多 duō ‘many/much’ SW glosses ​夕 xī ‘crescent moon’ with ​繹 yì ‘analyze; continuously’ (cf. ​析 xī as in ​分​析 ‘analyze’): continuously, month after month (多​久).
