The simple-form character 变 biàn ‘change’ (8 strokes) is an abbrev. of the full-form character 變 (23 strokes), replacing the upper full-form component 䜌 (19 strokes) with a shape like 亦 (6 strokes), and replacing the lower component 攵/攴 (4 strokes) with 又 (2 strokes).
