The Shuōwén Seal form of 兴/興(􀝴𢍯) xīng ‘rise/raise up; be aroused’ combines 舁(􀝮𦥠) yú ‘(two people) raise/lift up’, and 同(􁒬) tóng ‘together’ (as in 同力 ‘cooperate’): when people cooperate in doing sth. difficult, in lifting up sth. heavy (as a sacrifical vessel/offering), in working together toward accomplishing a common goal/success, there is a joyous shared result (同事功; 共同出力).
