The character 这/這 zhè/zhèi ‘this (here)’ combines 辶(辵 chuò) ‘go’, and 言 (yán); formerly wr. 者 (HDZ).
    Note: Formerly 這 yàn ‘go to meet’, in which 言 yán ‘direct speech’ (phonosemantic).
