The word came from the Chinese Wikipedia. The French came from French Wikipedia, where they really have "golden retriever" for the title. --Lemuel (talk) 02:43, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
- Great! I'm wondering about the spacing of the pinyin: neither "jīnmáo" nor "xúnhuíquǎn" has its own entry. Like English "deco" as in "art deco"... Tangmu (talk) 18:56, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
- The spacing on the pinyin was sort of my own, but it had some basis. I saw xúnhuíquǎn in CC-Cedict, and looking further it does have its own Wikipedia page. So yes, it should probably have its own Ci entry, but I'm coming at the new entries somewhat randomly, in this case because we talked about dogs in our Chinese meetup last night. I agree that jīnmáo doesn't show up anywhere as a standalone word, I just put them together because they seemed to fit, as in golden-fur. Writing it as "jīn máo xúnhuíquǎn" just looks overspaced, but joining them all together makes it too needlessly long. If jīnmáo were used for more words than golden retriever I'd be tempted to make it into a word, but I can't make a good case for that. I'll defer to your judgment, but that's where I was coming from. --Lemuel (talk) 00:12, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
