I'm curious about the sense recently added: "to monitor someone's performance". I haven't seen evidence of it in usage or dictionaries. Any examples? In return, so to speak, I offer this additional sense of 管制:

(PRC law) punishment involving restrictions on one's activities

Example of such restrictions: 未經執行機關批准,不得行使言論、出版、集會、結社、遊行、示威自由的權利;(from the first reference below)
