狗血淋頭 is typically used in one of these two patterns: 罵個狗血淋頭 罵得狗血淋頭 See examples below. (Note: I didn't find any patterns other than these two in the sources quoted below.)
In other words, 罵 (to curse) is generally already part of the context, so it doesn't help much to define 狗血淋頭 as "be cursed by". (Besides, "be cursed by" could be taken incorrectly to mean "to have an evil spell cast by".) In the two patterns above, 狗血淋頭 functions adverbially, expressing the *manner* in which someone abuses (viz., scathingly, tearing strips off the other person). So I'd suggest defining 狗血淋頭 as "stream of invective" or some such expression.
EXAMPLES 1) 被輿論罵個狗血淋頭 was scathingly ridiculed by commentators
2) 據說,王偉忠對男生較嚴厲,有時還會小助跑追打飛踢,編劇被罵得狗血淋頭、邊哭邊改劇本的戲碼也經常上演。 It is said that he's especially hard on the men, and will even occasionally run up and give them a kick. Cursed-out writers are often seen wiping away tears as they edit scripts.
jukuu.com 3) She rained down curses on their heads. 她把他们骂得狗血淋头。
4) If you are late for work again, the director is sure to tear you off a strip, and might even reduce your pay until you improve.

The gloss "be cursed by" is better than nothing in giving the general idea, but "stream of invective" fits the usage better.
We should probably add two example sentences, one with 骂得 and one with 骂个. We could also have a psx band ("part of speech explained"), saying "often used with mà and de or ge".
We should not use example sentences from another dictionary. In fact we should avoid copying examples from other dictionaries even into Talk pages. It's hard to say what's fair use and what's copyright infringement. When in doubt, it's better to be cautious. Providing links to the sentences in question should always be OK, and has the benefit of providing more context.
Example sentences from news articles and other non-dictionary sources are more likely to be fair use.

It's also used with 到 ... and with 训斥
