There are a few oddities like this entry in CE, I count the following 12 only, pure ASCII [A-Z] in the py band identical to the char band:
E, Q, T
CD, CT, GB, OK, TB, TV, WC,
BTV, DDT,
The Wenlin desktop app cannot access such CE entries directly, since the ASCII string by default goes to EC. But you can use the "search dictionaries for" function to access such CE entries indirectly. Or, you can create a wow button, if you know the serial number of the entry (I forget if there is a wow button syntax that will access the entry by its string value).
In principle, as we've seen in Bob's Cantonese dictionary, any string at all might show up as a head entry in a CE dictionary. In which case, the difference between CE and EC begins to blur.
There are some notes on some of the entries listed above that might be worth reviewing, at least to get a feel for the history of this situation. But I think such entries really do not belong in CE at all, and should be moved to EC and deleted.
However, these 12 entries in question do at least illustrate current functionality and limitations. They probably remain in CE today because deleting them was never a clear priority. But at any rate I will check now that corresponding entries exist in EC.
