Sycee
Should we add sycee as 2df? Is 细丝 really used with that meaning (a kind of ingot, cf. yuánbǎo) other than contributing etymologically to the English word "sycee"? If we add it here as 2df, what environment/abridgment labels should be included, maybe rare/historical/topolect/...? Tāngmǔ 汤姆 (talk) 19:27, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
As the rem band for this entry notes ... rem@rscook_2018-01-09T09:26:34PST add 2df (HDC) syn. 纹银, cf. sycee ... HDC includes an entry for this 纹银 sense of 細絲; HDC says the usage is old, and this sense does not occur in GFC; I usually use "en wr." band for such cases (in HDC, not in GFC); but ABC itself is inconsistent about marking "en wr."; in general if there is no "en", "gr" or "freq" band, "en wr." is sometimes assumed; BTW, in looking at this I added var. syns. to the EC entry for sycee, some of which seem more common than the current first syn.
