-The Shuōwén Seal form of 雨(􁿏) yǔ ‘rain’ combines a horizontal line 一 above signifying 天 ‘sky/heaven above’, with 𠘨(􁒧) mì depicting ‘a layer of cloud cover’, and 水(􁶢) shuǐ ‘water’ for the rain drops streaming down (cf. ☵, 㲾); the old form 𠕲(􁿐) has some twelve drops streaming down.
