The Shuōwén Seal form of 奥/奧(􁎨𢍢) ào ‘southwest corner of the house’ (shrine/library) combines 宀(􁎝) ‘roof/dwelling’, and 𠔉(􀝛𨤑𢍏) juàn (phonosemantic), as in 卷(􁢵𨤖) juàn ‘scroll/book’.
