 The Shuōwén Seal form of 皁/皂(􁈔𣅼早) zào ‘acorn’ is an abbrev. of 𦯑(􀋞𦷣草) zào ‘acorn’, commonly wr. 皂 to distinguish it from 早 and 草 cǎo ‘grass’.
