<WL>殸 [qìng] (古) stone chime (磬 qìng)@@; (HDZ:) 磬: (古) 石制乐器 (cf. 磬)  [kēng] 敵/敌  [shēng] 聲
The Shuōwén Seal form of 殸(􁦸) qìng combines 𡔝/声 qìng ‘stone chime’, and 殳 ‘strike/beat’ (with a mallet); cf. 磬(􁦷), 硜(􁦹).
The Shuōwén Seal form of 殸(􁦸) qìng ‘stone chime’ combines 殳 ‘beat/flail’ (as in 㱿, 殷), and (𡔝) qìng ‘stone chime’ (phonosemantic); formerly wr. 磬(􁦷), 硜(􁦹), the left side of 殸(􁦸) is said to derive from old pictographs depicting stone chimes hanging from a support/frame, cf. 磬(􁦷).
“Pieces of sonorous stones suspended and 殳 beaten — thus forming a kind of clavecin” —Karlgren(1923).
Compare: 㱿(􀡠) què ‘beat/flail/hull (grain/etc)’; 圥(􀄆𡴆); 虡(􀵺𧆾􀵸𧇽􀵹鐻) jù ‘wooden frame supporting bells/chimes/drums’ (簨虡).
殸 is co-signific (phonosemantic) in 聲() shēng ‘sound’ (in HDZ 殸 is also said to be an old writing of 聲).
Compare: 声/聲(􂄂) shēng ‘sound’, formerly wr. 殸 (HDZ).
With 殸 phonetic: 罄 qìng, 馨 xīn, and 謦 qǐng.
Compare: 罄(􀹙) qìng, 漀(􁽈) qǐng/qīng, 馨(􁍆𤯒) xīn, 謦(􀘤) qǐng.
Compare: (􁦸) qìng ‘stone chime’, 㱿(􀡠) què ‘beat/hull (grain).
“[殸] 声 Pieces of sonorous stones suspended and 殳 beaten — thus forming a kind of clavecin” —Karlgren(AD).
Note: Karlgren's “clavecin” (AD) (‘harpsichord’) is incorrect (evidently cf. 乐, 琴瑟); revised to 殸/磬 ‘musical stone; beat the musical stone’ (GSR).
