The Shuōwén Seal form of 浆/漿(􁽋𤖅) jiāng ‘sour fermented drink’ combines 水 (shuǐ) ‘water’, 将/將(􀡽) jiāng (abbrev. phonosemantic); formerly wr. 𤕯(􁽌); cf. 酱/醬(􂦿𤖕).
